Sources & Methodology
We use a host of different sources from reputable websites that have been vetted by industry standards.
Our sources include the World Bank, UN, OECD, national statistic departments, etc.
When there is a lack of data available for certain cities, we use predictive techniques to measure the most likely outcome based on numerous factors. The most suitable predictive method gets decided on a case-to-case basis.
We update the data yearly. All the data uses the latest year available.
Where city-level data has not been available, national data has been used where applicable.
Note: In some cases, the most recent data can be a couple of years old. Therefore, we can provide the most up-to-date data from up to 5 years before the analysis. However, this is rare and the vast majority of the data is from the previous year.
